Average Rating: (3) (0) One of Bucket's best Crime Slunk Scene is an album that in 45 minutes gives you a good overview of what the Bucketman is about. 'King James' is a great and concise rocker. Songs like 'Electronic Slight Of Hand' are more experimental and noisy. However it is 'Soothsayer' that is the centerpiece of this album and to me the entire Buckethead catalog. The emotion in Bucket's playing in this track is just unreal, it blows me away every time.
The other tracks sound good but 'Soothsayer' is IT. By (New Orleans, LA) (0) (0) Great album with rough edges Buckethead is a very diverse and multi-talented guitar player. He can play any genre and often creates his own genres of playing style. Personally being more enthusiastic about his more heavier or funkier, but still accessible work, I have mixed feelings about this album. Overall I think the majority is great, King James, Gory Head Stump and Soothsayer already make this album worth buying even if the other songs would be garbage. These songs are all quite melodic and (relatively) accessible. On the other hand this album also showcases Buckethead's avant-garde hard to swallow side.
While they are not bad, I am not fond of the final couple of tracks on this album. At least this does keep things interesting, as it is one of the most versatile Buckethead albums.
