I purchased a on and it arrived yesterday. It came with all of the cables nessesary to hook it up properly, I am just having trouble getting the computer to install the drivers correctly and set it up using the Serial port on the computer. I have tried setting up the COM port and the IRQ to match and the ranges for it etc. Or at least I think I have.
I'm not 100% sure with setting up a device on a serial port. I got into computers at the beginning of USB. I have it working right now in standalone mode, where it is just the SMPTE I/O (1/4') and the MIDI output A that carries MTC. It seems to be working flawlessly! If I had the MIDI interface setup using the serial port I could transfer the 2 inputs and 4 outputs of MIDI plus SMPTE without using up the MIDI input on my Project Mix.
I have several MIDI controllers that I would like to get hooked up now that I have an opportunity to for more MIDI I/O. The NEWEST drivers I found on the M-Audio website were for windows ME in 2002.
Hopefully it will still be compatible since it connects through the old serial port. I was trying for several hours to figure this thing out. Any help would be appreciated.
